오픈미디어아트페스티벌은 한-싱가포르 수교 40주년을 기념해 2015년 싱가포르 오픈미디어아트페스티벌로 시작되었다. 2017년까지 싱가포르와 서울에서 세 번의 페스티벌을 개최했으며 2020년에 페스티벌의 지평을 넓히고자 오픈미디어아트페스티벌로 개편했다. 이후 문화비축기지에서 제4회 《블랙스완: 예기치 않은 미래》(2020)를 시작으로 매년 페스티벌을 개최해 오고 있다.
오픈미디어아트페스티벌은 디지털 미디어와 기술기반 예술 프로젝트를 중점적으로 소개하고, 폭넓은 국제 예술네트워크를 통해 국내외 예술가, 기관들과 협업을 이어오고 있다. 오픈미디어아트페스티벌은 앞으로도 디지털미디어아트와 그 미래에 대해 관객들과 공유하고 논의하는 행사를 개최할 것이다.

The Open Media Art Festival was born as the Singapore Open Media Art Festival in 2015 to commemorate the 40th year of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore. From 2015 to 2017 the festival was held three times in Singapore and Seoul. In 2020, the festival was revamped into the Open Media Art Festival to expand its spectrum of collaboration of art and technology. Starting with the 4th edition, <Black Swan: Unpredictable Future(2020) at the Oil Tank Culture Park, the festival has been held annually.
The Open Media Art Festival focuses on introducing digital media and technology-based art and projects and continues to collaborate with Korean and international artists and institutions through an extensive international art network. The Open Media Art Festival will continue to host events to share and discuss digital media art and its future with the audience.
